Conforming. Surely for the television to force us to all conform, there would have to be one channel, and for it to follow us everywhere we go. No, we are given the free choice as to whether or not to turn on our tellies, and the obtusely vast selection of channels (growing by the minute like a cancer of entertainment) leaves us enough choice to indeed leave watching the same thing as everybody else a chance which is slimming faster than current celebrities.</span></span></i></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Tahoma;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Tahoma;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">But all of that fades to irrelevancy when we realise the ultimate flaw in the quoted idea - how exactly did we come to the conclusion that freedom to watch anything and everything on television was equal to freedom of speech? It is not our God given right to see what we want on TV, it is a vessel for entertainment as chosen by the people who own the channels, just as what we do in our lives is up to us, as we are, as it were, the owners of that channel. We are not missing out on anything by the lack of its broadcast - we never had any broadcasts in the first place.
